The Mausebunker in Berlin-Lichterfelde is one of the most extraordinary buildings in the city: a vast concrete laboratory with sloping walls, rows of triangular windows and blue ventilation pipes that jut out like the gun barrels of a beached battleship.

Built between 1971 and 1981 to plans by Gerd and Magdalena Hänska, it has become a cult icon of West Berlin brutalism and a pilgrimage site for architecture fans.

This design renders the building in bold black and white halftone, printed in white only for a crisp, graphic look on a black sweatshirt that's made for grey Berlin winters. Part of our Brutalist Berlin series, alongside the Bierpinsel in Steglitz.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Turn the sweatshirt inside out before washing.
  • Machine wash with warm or cold water.
  • Avoid using bleach.
  • Do not dry clean.
  • Do not iron directly on the design.
